Data transfer in Ipswich when you change phones
A new phone should feel like an upgrade, not a weekend spent re-entering contacts and hunting for old photos. Bring your old device and the new one to our kiosk inside Riverlink Shopping Centre, and Mr. Phone Riverlink will take care of the data transfer in Ipswich for you, moving your things across.
What we move across
- Contacts — names, numbers and email addresses.
- Photos — your camera roll and saved pictures.
- Messages — your text conversations.
- Apps and settings — so the new phone is set up the way you're used to.
We handle phone to phone and tablet to tablet, including the jump between iPhone and Android in either direction. Switching systems is where help saves the most time, because iPhones and Android phones keep contacts, photos and messages in different places.
What to bring
- Both devices, charged, plus their chargers if either battery is low.
- Passcodes for both, so each one can be unlocked during the transfer.
- Your account details — your Apple ID or Google account password, which some transfers ask for.
You don't need to book, and we'll quote a clear price before we begin. Got a question first? Ring or message 0420 896 369. Riverlink is easy to reach without a car, too: its bus interchange at the Target end is served by Westside buses, and the pedestrian bridge links it to Ipswich Central.
When the old phone is broken
A cracked screen or a dead charging port doesn't always mean the data is gone. Bring the old phone in for a free diagnostic: a screen replacement or charging port repair may get it working again so the transfer can go ahead. If the repair isn't possible or worth it, the check costs nothing.
Before you hand the old phone on
Keep the old phone until you've opened your messages, photos and banking apps on the new one and they all work. Then sign out of your accounts on the old phone and erase it before you sell it, trade it in or pass it to a family member. While you're at the kiosk, we can fit a tempered glass protector to the new phone on the spot.
